Engineering Technology

Baccalaureate Degrees

Penn State offers five baccalaureate degrees in engineering technology: electrical ET, electro-mechanical ET, mechanical ET, plastics ET, and structural design and construction ET. There is also a baccalaureate degree available in surveying engineering.

Why choose a baccalaureate degree?

Variety — A baccalaureate degree in engineering technology is similar to other four-year programs. In addition to the technical courses required for your major, you will also take general education courses that will enhance your non-technical skills and knowledge. General education courses will help you explore and improve skills that you may not realize you possess.

Career advancement — Graduates of most four-year engineering technology programs may sit for professional licensure and/or pursue an advanced degree in a similar field.

Job Availability — Industries throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the nation are seeking engineering technologists and technicians. Penn State's engineering technology program has almost a 100 percent placement rate for its baccalaureate degree-holding graduates.
